How to Diffuse Essential Oils
- If you have pets or small children, keep a window open and keep the diffuser away from where the particles will land directly on a bed or on their faces.
- Diffuse for 10-15 minutes at a time and turn it off for 45 minutes. Your body needs a chance to process the aroma.
- I find the automatic timing selections on most diffusers are either not long enough, or too long. I set a timer on my phone, or I turn it off when my cat starts caterwauling and pacing the floor. Unfortunately, not all animals do this. I happen to be fortunate to share my living space with a feline roommate who is smarter than I am, by a long shot. I trust her implicitly.
- Contrary to popular practice, I do not recommend diffusing essential oils when there are many people in one space. Certain essential oils can trigger involuntary negative reactions from people, either physical or emotional.
